Join us on our 72nd birthday to say a big thank you to the NHS

The NHS turns 72 on Sunday 5 July. Show your appreciation for NHS staff by taking part in the biggest ever ‘Clap for Carers’ at 5pm.

On Sunday 5 July, it will be 72 years since the NHS began.

During the last few months, the NHS has been through the greatest challenge in its lifetime, and this year the way we celebrate the NHS will have a different feel, as we remember all those we have lost during the coronavirus pandemic.

Throughout the pandemic, we have seen communities across the UK showing their love and appreciation for NHS staff and carers. So we want to use our 72nd anniversary as a final opportunity to say #ThankYouTogether to all key workers, from truck drivers and cleaners to doctors and shelf stackers, and everyone else who have kept us going in these challenging times.

To mark the day, everyone is being invited to take part in one final ‘Clap for our Carers’ – the biggest one ever – on Sunday 5 July at 5pm.

Everybody will be encouraged to stop what they’re doing and join with others (following social distancing advice of course) in their streets or neighbourhoods to applaud not just the NHS and other key workers but all those who have volunteered or helped keep services and community networks going.
